Final Reflection

1. So we have this photo assignment that we have finished where we have to take a photo a day for twenty one days, things that we are grateful for. And before the project even started, I was thinking about what I should take pictures of, and thus I was thinking about things that I'm grateful for. In turn I thought about how there are people out there who believe (with good reason) that my generation, and often, young adults tend not to be very grateful for anything. And then how my photography teacher heard that studies have shown that people who are more grateful for things are more creative. And that made me think, I mean really think, if teens are so ungrateful, then how are so many of us so creative? And as for me, well, I find that I am grateful for more things in one day then breaths I probably take in one year. And I know that one can easily say that that isn't true, but those who know me, and I mean really know me, then they know it's true as well as I do. The pictures I took were not of a specific thing, but of a general idea or concept. I am grateful for things but I find that the more you focus on the THINGS you have in your life instead of the PEOPLE, the IDEAS, the BEAUTY, then you really aren't truly grateful for what you have.
2. Living the way I've lived, I find/found it easy to appreciate every moment of my life, good or bad. And in doing that, I'm grateful for a lot of things, things that most teens, or even people in general aren't usually thankful for, and I seriously pride myself in that. I think that anyone who wants to try this, should.

3. Through this project and based on most of what I have said with my photos if I was to make a similar project it wouldn't be what you were grateful for. I would want people to go out and try notice the things that they never usually do.

Day 20

Music

Music is a staple in any country, a way to tell stories, convey emotions, an escape from everyday life, and a reason to dance and enjoy yourself.

Day 19

Deep Sleep

There are two meanings behind this picture, both the important of sleep, and how much I love it. And the importance of one's dreams, dreams are the only place where there are no bounds, no limitations, and it lets your imagination wander.

Day 18

Photo Album

We all have childhood memories, but do you ever think about them? All the fun you had, the innocence in your very existance? Did you ever focus on the things that you actually remember, or the stories that were told about you? Because just the knowledge that you were there, you learned, and you're here today, is precious.

Day 17

Last Man Standing

Last Man Standing

Don't be afraid to be one of a kind. Be the one who grabs attention and paves a new path in life. If you are seen as different, then you're doing something right. Be different, be unique, be the one and only you.

Reflection 3

Sixteen days out of twenty and I could do a million more. I find it is easier to find ideas, not out of objects that I am thankful for, but ideas, feelings, experiences. Because if you can see the good in all of those things, you truly understand the need for creativity. It's easy to just snap a picture of an object and say that you are grateful that its in your life. But when you show that you are even grateful for the darker parts of life, grateful for the dark that helps you see the light, then this project becomes really easy.

Day 16

Shadows That Stretch

How often do you focus on the shadows around you? The shape, the size, how the fall? They can so easily make you see things differently.
